Vice President's Good News Story!

Hello my fellow members, Well spring has sprung, daylight saving has begun giving us more Tee off times and the smell of Jasmine is in the air giving me a massive hay fever head ache, enough about me.

It also marks the beginning of the party season, spring racing, the race that stops the nation - Melbourne Cup and Christmas is not far off.

While COVID-19 has restricted how we do things, I can't speak highly enough.....

TAB now available at North Ryde Golf Club!

We are happy to announce that together with showing Sky Racing & Trackside, we now host TAB facilities which means members and visitors are able to use either our EBT (Electronic Betting Terminal) or the traditional machine to place their bets!

In addition, for those members that have the TAB app, if they refresh the Venue Mode to recognise our club, they can then access exclusive features and options!

Please Note:

Club Championships - Flexible Members and Membership on Hold are not eligible to play in Club Championships.

Ladies Update

Captain's versus President's competition on Tuesday 13^th October is a team event with no singles competition. Remember that traditionally the Captain's team (left side of the timesheet) wears yellow and the President's side blue.

With the change to one tee we will be able to accommodate all who want to play in the first two rounds of the Club Championships. The first round has been drawn. Players have already indicated on the sheet whether they wish to qualify for the final two rounds. However, since there is now no restriction on numbers you may still indicate if you change your mind and wish to qualify but must do so before the second round is played to allow the qualifiers to be put down for round three.

Nominations Open

As the month speeds by don't forget nominations for "Club Person of the Year" is open until October 23. This award is presented to the person whom the Members believe has given the most to the Club.

Any Member or Social Member can be nominated via the "Nomination Form" that can be downloaded either below or by grabbing a hard copy from reception.

Please get your thinking caps on as to whom, you believe, is worthy of the Club Person of the Year. Winners we be announced on December 11 as we start celebrating the Christmas season!!

Vale Malcolm Brown

It is with our deepest regret we advise our members that Malcolm Brown passed away on Tuesday October 6.

A keen golfer and long-standing member of this club for over 55.8 years. First becoming a member in 1965 he was well know to all, with the family sharing fond memories of enjoying many great meals at the Club's Chinese Restaurant. He will be sadly missed by family & friends.

WAKE: There will be a wake held in the club this Tuesday October 13. please contact the family on 0432 673 560 if you would like to attend so numbers can be confirmed.

On a hole that runs along a road, a hearse is approaching and after he putts out, he walks over to the road, puts his hat over his chest and bows his head as it drives past. He walks back and grabs his clubs and his playing partners say "You sentimental old bastard! You big softie!"
