Gentlemen, welcome back. I believe we are all very excited to be playing on Mondays once again. As I write this News, the sheet for 22nd June is full with 120 players and it has been a long, long time since we have seen that number at a Vets competition. We also have 5 on the waiting list, so I would urge those who are unsure as to whether they will be able to play or not, to give consideration as soon as you can so that in the event of you being unable to play, those on the waiting list will receive ample notice that they have a playing time.
You will have noticed that for the time being, we are able to play every Monday rather than every fortnight. This may apply for approximately 6 weeks, however the Board will let us know when we will be reverting back to our normal playing schedule. Ron Duffy has asked me to let you all know that during the period when we are playing each Monday, occasionally we may have to share the course with ground staff. With our normal playing schedule, on the Mondays when we don't play, ground staff carry out necessary course maintenance. Therefore, should you happen to encounter ground staff during your round, please be patient. They are the ones who keep our course in such excellent condition.
Your Committee wishes to endorse the recent request made by the Club Captain that Members playing weekly in both the Vets and Wednesday Competitions, refrain from playing the weekend Competitions, therefore leaving spaces for those members who work during the week and are only able to play at the weekend. We have been informed that there are at least 60 members booked for the 22nd June Monday Vets game, who will likely play Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Until Covid-19 is behind us, would you please consider those Members who are missing out each week.
Thank you.
Scott Beatty - Captain
