Hidden Talents

The past few weeks has seen our mechanic/carpenter Taylor put his creative and carpentry skills to use. In addition to his usual workload, Taylor has started repurposing timber from a large eucalyptus that had to be felled on the course, to something new for everyone to enjoy.

You will slowly see our old bench seats on the course be replaced by beautiful natural timber benches, sanded and varnished over the next few months.

Dean Lenertz - Assistant Superintendent

Welcome Sheena

Next time you swing past the office, take the time to say g'day to Sheena our new accounts person. Sheena joins us with accounting skills from a wide and varied accounting background. A very proud mother of three boys aged 16, 8 and 4 we would consider her a local, living just down the road at Denistone East. Yoga is her way to unwind, strengthen and relax those muscles after a busy week

Sheena is bubbling with enthusiasm and keen to understand our Club culture, members and everything to do with golf at North Ryde. She has really hit the ground running and we are excited to welcome her to our team!

Reminder Beer Prices

Dear Members, as mentioned previously, increases to beer prices came into effect from Thurs 1 Sept, 2022.

With the federal government twice-yearly beer excise increases in February & August plus the ongoing pressure of supply chain rises being passed along by the producers it has resulted in an approximate increase of our beer products by 5%.

Our priority as always is to ensure your Club remains sustainable and that we may continue to provide safe and high-quality service at competitive rates.

NO TRIVIA this Week Wed 7 Sept.

Note to our Wednesday Night TRIVIA fans, due to another event there is NO TRIVIA on Wednesday 7 September 2022 but we will be back and firing with questions on the Wed 14th.

Etiquette

Fix your Pitch Marks:  Repairing ball marks on the putting greens helps to maintain high-quality playing conditions on the courses you play.  But it is important to repair these ball marks correctly with the proper tools and techniques.

The proper technique for ball mark repair is easy and fast.

Insert the ball mark repair tool behind the ball mark and gently pull the top of the tool toward the centre (not upwards). Continue working around the ball mark, pulling the surrounding turf in toward the centre of the indentation. Avoid using a lifting or twisting motion because this can damage turf roots. Once you have finished pulling turf in toward the centre, gently tamp the area down with your putter to create a smooth, firm surface. For a full how to video on pitch repair click here,
