Financial Security

Your Board was extremely concerned in November 2019 (only 18 months ago) when the Bank Overdraft was fast approaching $1M.

This was not sustainable and your Board has been working hard for the past couple of years to secure the financial future of our Club and I am pleased to share some exciting news with you today.

Vets' AGM

This is the final reminder to all Vets of our forthcoming AGM on 24th May.  We will play a Shot Gun competition and upon conclusion of the round, members will meet in the Auditorium for an approximate 12.30pm start of the AGM.  After the meeting, members will return to the Half Way Bar for the usual BBQ sausage sizzle.  We would like to see as many members as possible attending our AGM. This is your opportunity to speak up should you have any thoughts or suggestions as to how the Vets are or should be conducted.  It is our commitment to provide members with an enjoyable round of golf each and every time we all play.  Your input will assist us in achieving that goal.

The total cost for the day will be $20. This will cover the golf, BBQ and 2 free drinks (beer, wine or soft drink).

All members of the current Committee will be standing for re-election.  Notwithstanding that, please advise any member of the Committee should you be interested in nominating for a position on the Committee.  Nomination Forms are available from the Committee.  Nominations are now open and completed forms must be delivered to and acknowledged by the General Manager before 5.00pm on Sunday, 23 May.  Unfortunately late nominations cannot be accepted.  In the event that no nominations are received, an election will not be required.

Ladies Upcoming Events

Medal Round 4 will be played next Tuesday and we are reintroducing a putting competition in conjunction with this. Simply record the number of your putts on your card and putts are now able to be recorded on the MiScore App once the settings are changed to allow this.

To Enable Putts on the App
Go to the Menu on the App,  then click Settings and change Putts Enabled to on.

After you have entered your score for the hole,  simply swipe the screen to the left and there will be a new screen where you can enter the number of putts you have had. Do this for every hole.

Biggest Morning Tea:  A reminder the Biggest Morning Tea will be held on 25 May. If you can please bake something and bring it along on the day to raise money for charity.

Foursomes Championships:  The sheets are out now for the Foursomes Championships which are on June 1 and 8. If you have not already done so, organise your partner and put your names down on the sheet. The draw will be done on 25 May.

Medal Round 5:   The sheets are also out now for Medal Round 5 on 15 June.

Spotlight - Dragon on the Green

Over 340 family members celebrate their Mother's Day at North Ryde Golf Club's restaurant Dragon on the Green last Sunday. 

With free bubbles & chocolate treats adding to the wonderful food, overlooking our beautiful greens it set the tone of the day, to spoil our mums!

Dragon on the Green is a very popular choice amongst members and locals for many different celebrations. The restaurant's popularity is attributed to the wealth of experience that make up the kitchen team.  Ueli has 36 years in the industry within a vast array of venues within other Clubs.  The Chinese Head Chef brings his culinary skills direct from China to make for a true authentic taste.  And although they excel at Chinese cuisine they easily transfer their skills to modern al-a-carte cuisine for events and weddings. And for the final touch Shirley and her team always look after their guests with a welcoming friendly smile.

Congratulations

A hole-in-one, known as an Ace in America, is a very memorable event for any golfer and is something many golfers can fail to achieve in a lifetime of playing golf.

Reminder:

The use of a mobile phone on the course for any purpose must not interfere with the enjoyment of other golfers or slow down play.

Latest COVID Update

As you may be aware, NSW Health has extended the COVID-19 restrictions until 12.01 am Monday 17 May 2021. 

This means face masks are still required to be worn inside the gaming areas, with all face to face staff also wearing face masks .  All members & guests are required to be seated while eating and drinking.
