74th Annual General Meeting

Playing Members are invited to the 74th Annual General Meeting at 7pm on Monday 26 June (next week).

Members will have the opportunity to view the progress of the Clubhouse upgrade before and after the AGM.

We will share an informative update, answer your questions, introduce our new Board for the 2023-2025 term, and enjoy an evening with snacks and drinks afterwards.

Voting closes at 5pm today, Friday 23 June 2023 for the 2023 - 2025 Director positions. If you have not cast your vote you have until 5pm. Details on how to vote is on the Members home page or click here.

Super Saturday Winners

Last weekend Saturday, 17 June was certainly a 'Super Saturday' with everyone enjoying the live music brought to us by the Paul Winn Duo and the many winners from last month (MAY) collecting their trophies and plaques in front of family and friends. It was also great to have Life Member Jimmy Elphick on hand to present the Jim Elphick Junior Trophy to winner Matthew Johnsun and runner up (brother) Luke Johnsun.

Adding to the fun and celebration there was the $1,000 members Cash Draw won between long time members Nadia Panetta winning $200, Jim Elphick winning $300 and Joan Flaherty winning the $500 cash prizes as their numbers were drawn out of the barrel. Congratulations to all our Super Saturday Winners.

Don't forget to mark it in your diary and join us for the next Super Saturday on 22 July for a great live music and the chance to WIN some of the $1000 Members' CASH guaranteed to go on the night.

Master Pennants

Our North Ryde Golf Club Master Pennant Team played their final round away on Sunday, 18 June against Roseville Golf Club. We went there expecting a tough match and we certainly got one.

Both Teams entered this last round undefeated with North Ryde holding a slim lead of 0.5 over Roseville. Everything was hinging on the result of this final match whereby the Winning Team would win the Section and move on to the semi-finals.

This match went right down to the wire with North Ryde managing a 4 all draw and Section winners for the second year in a row. Winners this week were Greg Sheaves 3&2, Rob Righton 1 up, Greg Imber 1 up and John McKie 4&3.

We now move into the semi-final stage of this Division. The other Section winners along with us are Bankstown, Marrickville and Leonay. Our semi-final will be this Sunday, 25 June at 11am against Marrickville Golf Club and will be played at Bankstown Golf Club. The winners of each semi-final will play in the Division Final the following week at Twin Creeks.

On behalf of the Club and all its Members, I would like to wish the Team all the very best this week and remember that spectators are welcome.

Women's Report

Foursomes Championships: The Foursomes Championships were completed last Tuesday 13 June and the winners were:

Division 1:  Winners - Helen Lee & Soo Ha Score: 179. Runner Up - Alison Stubbs & Cheryl Ward Score: 182
Division 2:  Winners - Linda Mathieson & Bev Boyer Score: 195. Runner Up - Elena Shin & Susan Kim Score: 200
Division 3:  Winners - Pam Joy & Sarah Dale Score: 215 Runners Up - Janice Bergin & Jan Gorman Score: 220

Foursomes Knockout: The Foursomes Knockout was played last Thursday 15 June. Marcia Anderson & Cathy Breen played against Jenny Lee & Elly Choi. Elly was playing her first knockout match and was very nervous. Both teams played some brilliant golf but, in the end, experience won, and Marcia & Cathy defeated Jenny & Elly. Congratulations to you all.

Medal Rounds: The medal round templates have been fixed so in future you will be able to book yourselves online as for any other competition. The only difference is that you will only be able to book yourselves into the appropriate division.

Pennants: The Bronze III Salver has completed their competition for the year. On Friday they had another win 3.5 to 1.5. The big surprise was they ended up coming 3rd overall. Well done team.

The Bronze II Pennant also completed all their matches last week. They came 4th in their competition.

A great result for both teams and a huge thanks to all who represented the Club on those frosty early mornings.:
