Farewell Celebration

Dear Members, As notified in the special newsletter edition on Tuesday 29 November, two of our senior managers are retiring - Graham Dale has been the Club's GM for the past four years and Ron Duffy has been the Superintendent for the past four decades! On behalf of the Board, we invite you to their joint farewell.

Wednesday 14 December - 3pm to 6pm

PLEASE RSVP your attendance to the office to assist with catering. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of Graham and Ron and in turn welcome Anthony Ryan and Dean Lenertz into their new roles.

Tonight - Win a Ham, Sunday Enjoy Free Music & Win the Cash or Both

Tonight is our second Christmas Ham Raffle with 17 hams to be won. Happy hour runs from 4:30pm to 6:30pm with raffle tickets for the delicious Hams on sales from 5:30pm. You'll need to be here for your chance to WIN a Ham for Christmas!

Super Sunday is also on this weekend and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy being entertained by Seamus Field. Relax and listen to FREE Live Music while celebrating our golfers' wins from last month. There is also $1,000 CASH to be won by a lucky member in the Club during the event. We are not only giving away $1,000 CASH this Sunday, but also the following Friday 16 December following the Hams Raffle.

Whether you are a Golf Playing Member or a Social Member, you are eligible to WIN the CASH. You just have to be here to win when your number is called. Be like many other members before you and it really will be a Merry Christmas!

Hams Day

Another favourite event on our Christmas Calendar is Hams Days this Saturday 10 Dec. Presentation of hams to the winning teams will be at the Clubhouse from 5:30pm. If your group are amongst the lucky/skilled winners, remember at least one of your group must be there to collect the hams - uncollected hams will go to the next best scorecard.

New Furniture for Christmas - 9th Tee

Through the talented work of our dedicated Course Mechanic, Taylor Smith, we are very happy to set the "benchmark" for beautiful handcrafted course furniture at North Ryde.

Taylor cleverly recycled our very own course timber to create the first of these masterpieces which we'll use for years to come.

Earlier this week Taylor completed this bench now well placed at the 9^th tee, so on your next round you might like to "road test" it?

Christmas Nine & Dine - 5pm 22 Dec

We look forward to again hosting the next Nine & Dine on Thursday 22 December, online bookings open Saturday 17 at 6pm, guest are welcome and handicaps will be allocated for those who do not have one. Competition Fee is $35.00 - it will be a 2Ball Team and Individual Stableford for Men and Ladies as well as a Mixed. There will be some balls distributed, a Nearest the Pin on the 3rd hole for Men and Ladies. Plus a Christmas Hamper to be raffled on the night.

The $35 fee includes golf and will be followed by a delicious 'Super Hamburger and Chips' that will be served on the Terrace overlooking our gorgeous greens. Get your Christmas golfing gear ready and come and enjoy a great evening!

Vale Dennis Spagarino

It is with our deepest regret we advise our members that Dennis passed away Monday, 5 December.

A well know face in the Club, he will be sadly missed by his many North Ryde Golf Club friends/fellow members and staff. Our heartfelt condolences are also with his wife Karen and family on their loss.

Funeral: Friday 9 December 2022, 11am at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Croydon. (Entrance to the church is on Webb Street). Entombment 1pm at the Field of Mars Cemetery, Quarry Rd, Ryde.

Christmas Dinner Dance Saturday 3 December

Christmas Dinner Dance

A modest but appreciative crowd danced and sang along to the fantastic band at the Club’s Christmas Dinner Dance on Saturday night 3 December. Fantastic food was enjoyed by all as well as many a turn on the dance floor with nearly everyone up as the evening progressed. We had two lucky door prize winners who both get to enjoy $500 cash each for Christmas, congratulations goes to Baeky Lee and Lisa Oldfield.

The other winner announced on the night was Phil May who won the Callaway Golf Bag from Coopers - congratulation's Phil, that will look great under the Christmas tree! Thank you everyone for making it a great night.

Turkey Day Wednesday 7 December

Turkey Day

A bumper field of 250 members enjoyed perfect conditions spread over a double shot-gun start to play in the Club's annual Turkey Day on Wednesday, 7 December. After the event, courtesy of John Law's sponsorship, we all enjoyed some great tunes with "The Bell" performing. Some impressive scores were achieved under the Ambrose format and those fortunate enough, took home the spoils of a frozen turkey. Women's Ham Day Thursday 8 December

Women's Hams Day

The first ever Women's Hams Day was fantastic and enjoyed by everyone. One could even say it was a sensational success. Everyone stayed for the presentation and were so excited to find out who the lucky winners were. I don't think we have seen such a joyful atmosphere for so long now.

To add to the excitement there was even a hole in one on the 14th hole which I believe was the second one for Dagmar Pysik in the last two months. Congratulations Dagmar.
