Course Medical Emergencies Ring 0414 193 750

Last week we introduced the Medical Emergency Number 0414 193 750, to be called in the case of an emergency on the golf course.  The first-aid trained Pro-Shop staff will answer this dedicated emergency number to coordinate an Ambulance the fastest and quickest way to where you're located on the course.  Time is critical when getting emergency services and this phone will speed the process.

In this light we have also added this to the front page of the North Ryde Golf Club App see image. The Emergency icon appears on the bottom right of the screen, if the icon does not appear on your phone, just click on the top right setting button and refresh your image. We do ask you to load this number on your phone for course emergencies but if you need easy access just click through this link and onto the number to call.

A Fond Farewell

Last Friday, 17 March - A large group of Members & friends gathered to celebrate Joan's involvement and dedication to the Junior program and to say thanks as she retires. Chloe Han, a past Cadet/Junior of Joan's has now taken the lead and is running the new program in conjunction with Marty Lyne. We look forward to seeing Joan more at the Club relaxing with friends and hopefully she will have more time to play the game she loves so much and has shared with so many Cadets & Juniors at North Ryde through the years.

A Note From Joan

To Anthony, Mark, Board of Directors, Members and Friends.

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and messages on Friday night. Thank you all for your support over the years. I love and will treasure the gifts that you presented to me.

It was my pleasure and I enjoyed every minute with the Junior Program at NRGC.  The children kept me feeling young and active. Those days, I will never forget, thanks kids.

Best wishes, Good golfing - Joan

Women's News

NSW Bowl:  On Sunday and next Tuesday, we will be playing the NSW Bowl.  This competition is a special annual competition to support specific female golf initiatives.  This is a 2 Ball Stableford competition with an Individual in conjunction. The team with the best stableford score from both midweek and weekend competitions will be sent to Golf NSW.

Medal Round 3:  We will be using the same format as last time for medal round 3 where you will be able to book yourselves in the appropriate division.  The divisions are set on daily handicaps. Once you have booked in the correct division please do not move to another spot in that division.

We will be trialling Division 4 playing Stableford (not stroke) in medal rounds.  Division 4 players will still be eligible to win a medal while playing stableford.  Hopefully this will encourage more Division 4 players to participate.

Open Day:  Open Day was a great success with 48 teams, 151 players competing on the day.  The visiting Muirfield players were outstanding and took away the winner and runner up prizes for both Division 1 and Division 2.  Congratulations to Cheryl Ward, Alison Stubbs and their visitors Helen Winning (Massey Park) and Robyn Woods (Massey Park) who won the Scratch prize with 44 C/B.

It was wonderful to be upstairs for lunch and presentation and delightful to see so many of the women players mingling and catching up.

Thank you again for supporting the raffle in aid of The Shepherd Centre, which raised around $530.

Barbara Evennett - Captain & Eve Sheppard - Women's President
