Jackpot Winner

Last Friday night a healthy crowd of members gathered in the Clubhouse to be a part of the weekly Meat Trays and Cash draw.  There were 18 lucky meat tray winners (which unfortunately didn't include me this time) and one very fortunate Cash Draw Prize winner.  Social member John Turra, a regular Friday night attendee was the lucky recipient of the jackpotted cash draw which topped out at $2,000!  Well done and congratulations to all our winners.

The weekly Friday Night Cash Draw will recommence this Friday, 28 April at $1,000 so make sure you come down and be part of the fun and next time it might be you?

Diggers' Day

Diggers' Day 2023 will definitely go down as one of the better celebrations of Diggers' Day at NRGC with a full field playing "three clubs and a putter, two-man Ambrose" event.  Golf was followed by the laying of the Anzac wreath by Michael Ward on the First Tee.  Then director Greg Sheaves recited The Ode which was followed by member Howard Peterson who performed the Last Post and Reveille.

The dinner crowd of more than 100 were entertained by comedians Rasher Ryder and Brendan Mon Tanner.  Importantly, throughout the year the Club runs weekly meat tray raffles which raises funds in support of Legacy.  On Saturday night we were very happy to again show our support for this worthy charity and on behalf of Legacy, member Michael Ward accepted a cheque for $4,000.

Biggest Morning Tea

Once again NRGC will be hosting a Biggest Morning Tea to aid the Cancer Council on Tuesday, on 16 May.

You will be asked to bring along some savoury items and delicious, wickedly good, tasty biscuits, cakes and/or slices to sell/buy on the day. Maybe even take some extras home for later.

So, its time to start making jams, pickles, chutneys or preserves, so that we have lots to tempt all tastes. NB please make sure you state the date it was made and all  the ingredients.
