Nine & Dine is Back this Thursday, 13 January

We are all looking forward to another great evening on Thursday, 13th with a 2BBB team event, shotgun start at 5:00 and 5:07.  The time sheet will open on Saturday at 6pm. Visitors are welcome whether they have a handicap or not.

With current COVID situation dinner will be a little different, so after golf, rather than shared plates for dinner, you can enjoy a beef burger and chips in a box al fresco on the balcony or for those who prefer you can choose to be inside.  This means a reduced cost of $27.  Any dietary requirements outside of this please contact the office in advance to arrange an alternative.

Again because of COVID, unfortunately we will not be holding a raffle this time but please don't hesitate to be part of this twilight event. After January 13, the next Nine & Dine date is January 27.

18th Green Construction

Prior to holiday shutdowns we were able to get started with the concrete pathways which have now been completed. The bunker's capillary concrete lining was also poured on Tuesday, Dec 22 with the installation of the sand also commenced. Irrigation was also completed along with all earthworks and shaping making ready for the turf.

Laying of turf commenced on Thursday, 7 Jan around all bunkers and approx. 1-meter-wide strip around the green to stabilise these areas.  All going well, Monday, 10 Jan will see another 600m2 of couch arrive which will complete the green surrounds.  Tuesday, 11 Jan will see the remaining work zone area turfed in kikuyu to complete the whole site with seeding of the green to occur towards the middle of the following week.

Vets' Back this Monday

Happy New Year to all our Members.

Well, Monday, 10 January sees the Vets' back to their usual fortnightly schedule after a longish break caused by you know what!  Your Committee wishes you a better year than what we have all experienced over the last 12 months, plus some great golf.  We look forward to welcoming you all back and we wish you good golfing throughout the year.

The Club has received a notice from Castle Hill Country Club of a Seniors Order of Merit Stableford Event they are holding on Monday, 28 February.  Those interested please click on this link to obtain the details and registration form.  It should be noted that this event is only open to males, who are 55 years or older on 28 Feb 2022 and have a GA handicap not exceeding 18 (i.e.: H/c of 19 or more makes you ineligible).  Unfortunately, it clashes with our own game on that day.  Entries close at 5pm on Monday, 21 February.

Scott Beatty - Vets' Captain

Congratulations Jackie

Jackie White, Weekend Lady Member, has just successfully completed her 10th Sydney to Hobart race:

Jackie White has sailed in 10 Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Races and has been fortunate to finish all 10.

She has sailed on a number of Yachts including Vamp, Wild Rose, Black Sheep and Carrera S.

In 2013 Wild Rose won the Blue Water Pointscore and Jackie was awarded the Tony McLean Mainsheet Hand trophy.

In 2014 Wild Rose went one better winning the Tattersalls Cup as the overall Sydney to Hobart Handicap Winner.

Jackie said "Having a sense of humour is important as ocean racing has been explained as long periods of boredom interspersed with moments of heightened terror!" and "I must be getting better as I have less bruises from this bumpy Hobart Race!"

Congratulations Jackie on this amazing achievement on the water, I am sure this sense of humour also helps on the golf course as well!
