Major Pennants
North Ryde vs Cumberland

North Ryde Pennants travelled this time to Cumberland on Sunday 12 February with the majority of the matches close through the front nine. One match was already done finishing on the 11th, thus heading into the back nine North Ryde were up in 2 matches, square in 2 matches and down in the other 2 matches.

With a few holes to play the match was in the balance once again with both teams having won 2 games each, it could have gone either way. Cumberland with home course advantage on their side were able to win some of the tight matches so unfortunately, it came down to a defeat of 4.5 to 2.5. A special mention to Joseph Lin, who with fantastic play, won his match 8 & 7. Joseph and Jackson Fennell both remain undefeated for the season.

Results:

  • Luke Cincotta - lost 2 down
  • Jackson Fennell - square
  • Matthew Gordon - lost 1 down
  • Michael Hooper - lost 3 & 1
  • Joseph Lin - won 8 & 7
  • Alex Sghabe - won 2 & 1
  • Alistair McKie - lost 3 & 2
  • Res - Michael Spackman - lost 2 down

The other match in our division was Dunheved hosting Manly resulting with a Dunheved win of 5/2. So, after 3 rounds Cumberland & Dunheved lead the group with 2 points and North Ryde & Manly on 1 point, both heading back home this week.

On behalf of the Major Pennant team, we want to thank our caddies for their efforts and to those members that came out and supported the team. It's much appreciated.

Our next match is this coming Sunday, 19 February against Cumberland on home ground North Ryde teeing off at 7am.

We look forward to seeing you there supporting the Team.

2023 Members' Survey

We’ve had a great response to the 2023 Members' Survey which closes on Tuesday 28 February. Thanks to the work of Elizabeth Sung we also have a Korean translation available from the office.

This anonymous survey provides your Board and Management invaluable information on identifying improvements to services and the Club's overall operations.

Women's News

On Tuesday 28 February we will be helping Diana Donohoe to celebrate her 80th Birthday. There will be a cake to share and some fun to be had, so please stay for a while after golf to share her special day.

Don't forget that Tuesday 21st March is OPEN DAY, so if you would like to invite a golfing friend to join us, you can. Our course is looking so good at the moment, it is a treat to be able to share it with others. The booking sheet for your teams is in the locker room. If you are inviting guests, we need their golflink number and the $25 entry fee to be placed in an envelope with their details on the front.

As Open Day is a shotgun start, to avoid chaos in the Pro Shop with everyone checking in at the same time, we are asking that Members pre-pay their $18 entry fee on-line. For Instructions on how to register and pay CLICK HERE.

If you encounter any problems pre-paying please let me know.

To clarify, please enter your teams on the sheet in the locker room then go to where the timesheets are on the website, or Golf Bookings on the App, select the correct date then enter payment details.
