Congratulations to our
Winner!

With everyone holding their breath, all our 15 finalists (with some members lucky enough to have their name drawn more than once) lined up for the final selection of who would draw the key to win the car last Saturday Evening, 30 April.

At last we have our winner of the MG3-Excite - David Sturtridge. David was one of our finalists having his name only selected for the final drawn on the night - talk about lucky! He was congratulated by our event sponsor Ryde MG's Manager Dillion Smith, our Club Vice President Alex Cicchini and Directors Steve Callaghan and Ross Donaldson.

Also congratulations go to all our other finalists on the night who went in the secondary draw to WIN some Cash!!! Michael Hackett, Gordon Edwards, Bobby Blacklaw, Philip William, Scott Quested, Geoff McMillian, Wade Shoesmith (Family representative) and Michael Flaherty. Thanks to our Sponsors, Directors and participants for a wonderful event and once more congratulations to David and wife Annette on their new little red car.

Mothers' Day

Hoping all our mums have the best day and get to spend time with their loved ones. If you have not yet made plans, there are still a few spots available for lunch or dinner at the Dragon on the Green, which includes a glass of FREE bubbles for every mum; or enjoy coffee and cake overlooking our beautiful greens, or better still, both!

Upcoming Events

Ladies Medal Round 4 - Dawn Barling Memorial Trophy, Rene Proudford Salver & Veterans' Challenge Brooch is on Tuesday 10 May. This stroke round has already been drawn so if you have not already put your name down to play in this event and you wish to do so, please send me an email.

Ladies Foursomes Knockout - If you have qualified and are drawn to play in the Knockout, please pay the Entry Fee of $10 per player before the first round which commences on Thursday 12 May. Please place the entry fee in an envelope with your name and Foursomes Knockout on the front and leave it in the ladies' events slot in the locker room.

North Ryde Salver, Macquarie Bowl & Autumn Plate sheet is in the locker room. This will be drawn on 17 May.

A reminder to all ladies that the outside door to the locker room must not be left open. If you see that it is open and there Is no one around then please close It.

Lady Veterans' News

The International Cup run by the VWGA at The Coast Golf Club, which was cancelled earlier in the year because of the weather, has been rescheduled for Monday 21 November 2022. The cost is $42 per player. Entry forms are in our folder on the bench in our locker room.

The next event for the VWGA is the Shelia Carr Memorial Salver, on Tuesday 21 June 2022 at Castle Hill Golf Club. It is a 2BBB costing $67 per player. This is a great opportunity to play on a course which is not always available to non-members

The Challenge Brooch will be played in the next Medal round on Tuesday 10 May. If the weather once again causes it to be cancelled, it will then be played on the 5th Medal round on Tuesday 24 May. To participate in this event, you must be a financial Member of the VWGA and the North Ryde Lady Veterans. Any lady wishing to join the Lady Veterans, please contact Cheryl Ward, Adele Sloane or myself for an application form.

Hoping the rain has gone, so we can play our golf like we used to.
