Club Person of the Year

Congratulations to our 2021 Club Person of the Year – Gordon Edwards. Gordon was recognised for his ongoing contributions to the Club at the Club's Christmas Dinner on Saturday 4 Dec. Thanks Gordon for all that you do!

Club Christmas Dinner

Our annual Club Christmas Dinner was another great night to celebrate not only our Club Person of the Year but also being able to all be together. A great night was had by all with a wonderful Christmas Dinner and live music to Party along with on the night.

Book Now - Nine & Dine is Back!

Nine and Dine is back - or possibly Ten & Dine? Online bookings are now open, 6 groups are already booked so get in early to secure your spot for your team and come. Enjoy this great tradition at North Ryde Golf Club.

Shotgun start at 5.00pm and 5.07pm with 2 teams on each tee, initially holes 1-5 including 2a and 2b, with more to be opened up if required. 2BBB with crossover, prize for winning team plus ball comp, NTP ($2 entry) on 3rd tee. Plus a gourmet hamper raffle!

The $35 fee includes golf and will be followed by a delicious mixed Australian/Chinese meal. Come dressed in your smartest Christmas golf gear and get this fun event up and running again.

January dates to be announced after the first week.

Construction on 18th progressing despite the weather

Notwithstanding the continuing inclement weather and changeable conditions, the drainage pipe has been laid and 100mm gravel layer installed. It’s really beginning to take shape. Next will be the first layer of greens mix, followed by a blended organic mix for the remaining 150mm to finished grade.

Turkey Day Roundup

A Great Day and a Great Night was had by all on Wednesday 8 Dec. Congratulations to all our winners. Many Turkeys were rounded up and distributed on the night, certainly some great Christmas Dinners will be had. This is always a great annual event with lots of good cheer and sportsmanship on the course flowing over into the Club at the end of the day for presentations. Thanks to our sponsor Bennelong Legal - John Law for organising a great band for the evening - The Bell. One of the band members is legendary guitarist and vocalist Gary Dixon (Ted Mulry Gang). We rocked away with the classics until 8pm.

A little bit of extra fun on the night was a guessing competition, as one of our well-know members has an uncanny resemblance to Gary. Entry forms were available during the band's first set, for everyone to have a go at guessing the member. The first correct entry drawn won a magnificent bottle of Glengoyne The Legacy Series Chapter One 2019 Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Winner was guest Aaron Bennett, guessing correctly Graham Onley as our muso look alike.

Be Here Tonight to WIN! 16 Hams and $1650 in the Members' Cash Draw!

This Friday 10 December and next Friday 17 December the Club will be giving you 16 chances each week to WIN a quality free range half ham for Christmas. Tickets on sale from 5pm. Draw starts 6:30pm. Plus the Members' Cash Draw has continued to climb, to the highest ever at $1650. What a great Christmas present for one of our members. Be here to grab a Ham or the CASH. It's bound to go off soon!

Energy & Power Upgrade Update

Over the last few weeks you will have seen technicians on site, removing the old air conditioning units from the Club roof using a crane from the entrance car park. The crane then replacing with the new platforms ready for installing the modern efficient units.

The old packaged units removed have been sent for re-cycling and the other Air-Conditioners have been re-gassed with Natural Refrigerants.

The air-conditioning will be off in the Main Bar this Saturday and Sunday while these new units are being connected ready for commissioning early next week.

Members' Car Draw

Don't forget to claim your chance to WIN the car, you must be in the Club at 6:30pm for the Draw. Wednesday night 22 December gives you two chances for one of your Main Bar receipts to be drawn out of the barrel, giving you the chance to WIN the car. You could be one of 15 members who will be in the final draw to WIN the car on the evening of April 27.

Lady Veterans Upcoming Events

The VWGA of NSW are hosting the coming events in 2022. These events are open to all financial members of the VWGA.

Mona Vale Golf Club (Florence Stewart Silver Basket) a 2BBB on the 21^st February 2022. Cost is $52 per person.
The Coast Golf Club (International Cup) a 2BBB on Monday 21^st March, 2022. The cost is $42 per person.
Yowani Country Club, Canberra, a Two Day Tournament sponsored by the VWGA of NSW. Monday 7^th March: 4BBB, Shotgun start 8am to 8.30am. Cost: $35 per person. Tuesday 8^th March: Individual Stableford, Shotgun start 8am to 8.30am. Cost: $35 per person. Event Dinner at the Yowani Golf Club on Monday 7^th March at 6.30pm. Cost: $50. (optional)

Entry forms are in the Veteran's folder in the Ladies locker room. Fill in your details on the form provided. Put entry fee money into an envelope with your NAME and place into the Veterans Event Box. Or you can send money by a direct debit to the VWGA.

Enclosed in the folder is a list of tournaments to come.

2022 Subscriptions

The 2022 Member Subscriptions are being finalised to be sent soon. Please keep an eye on your inboxes and also your junk folders in case we end up there, if you find us in the junk please make us a trusted email. (If you have not received your subscription email notice within the next two weeks let the office know by email office@northrydegolfclub.com.au).

Also remember to use your house account money in the Clubhouse, transfer all prize money and redeem golf balls won by end of February 2022.

Please Pick Up Your Bag Tags

We still have a lot of members who have not picked up their tags. Please pick them up from the Office Mon-FRI 9am-5pm or SAT 10am-3pm. These will be mandatory from 1 January 2021
