President's Christmas Message

Dear Members,
As another demanding year draws to a close, we look forward to celebrating this Saturday with the Club Person of the Year announcement and Christmas Dinner.

Yet again we have worked together to overcome many challenges over the past months and now hopefully can enjoy the return to some sort of normal life.

Importantly, in this vein and in the best interests of the health and well-being of all Members, Staff and Guests, your Board has passed a By-law which restricts access to the Club unless fully-vaccinated....

Taking Shape - The New 18th

The profile and layout of the 18th is really starting to take form with the shaping of the green base and irrigation being installed this week. Members are now able to get a idea of what the greens and bunkers will look like when finished.

Vale Charles Titmuss

It is with much sadness that we advise that one of our most-liked and long-standing members passed away on Sunday 28 November after several months in hospital.  Charles was 83 and had been a key member of the Club for 47 years.

Charles was a very keen golfer who played in the Wednesday and Sunday mixed competitions, the latter with his wonderful wife Kathy.  When the Vets Division was started in February 1998, Charles was one of its original members.  He served on the Vets Committee for a number of years before taking on the position of Chairman which he held until his passing.  He often said that his favourite games of golf were those he played every 2nd Monday in the month.  Charles was most proud of his Hole-in-One on Wednesday, 23 November 2016 at the 3rd Hole.

After leaving school, Charles began his working life as a butcher and at the same time studied in the evenings to become an Accountant, graduating in 1988.  Then, during the 1990s and whilst still in Practice, Charles became a night time accountancy teacher at TAFE.  To the end, Charles still completed the annual tax returns of several of his long-standing clients.

Charles is survived by his wife Kathy who is very well known and much loved by all, their 5 children Sarah, Matthew, Michael, Anna and Amy, as well as their 9 grandchildren.  We offer you our sincere condolences and Charles will be greatly missed.  RIP Charles.

Vets' Hams Day
Monday 13 December

With regard to our Hams Day game on 13 December and the collection of hams that have been won by players.  It will be necessary for all hams to be collected at the time of distribution on the day.  Those that are not collected will go to the next best score card.  No hams will be stored for later collection.  However, if anyone who is unable to remain for the distribution of the hams, they should nominate another person to collect the ham on their behalf to ensure that they receive their well-earned prize.

Next Year's Starting Tee Times

We wish to advise Members that the Committee has agreed to alter the starting times of games held in the non-daylight saving months, to be 1 hour later than in 2021.  The 2022 Fixtures Book will reflect a continued 7.00 a.m. starting time from the beginning of our competition year, namely 10 January, up to our game on 11 April and will then change to 8.00 a.m.  This starting time will remain until 10 October when it will revert once again to 7.00 a.m.  We hope that Members will welcome this change which has been made primarily for the winter months.

Ladies Presentation Day Roundup.

The Presentation Day, held on Tuesday 30 November was a very successful day and enjoyed by all. It was lovely to be able to get together and celebrate the successes of our lady members.

There were a 137 lady members and representatives from board and management at the lunch. We all enjoyed the traditional Christmas lunch of Turkey, Ham followed by Christmas pudding.

A total of $967.00 was raised from our raffle for our charity.  A big thank to our lady members for their generosity. Click here to see all the wonderful photos of the day.
