Course Report

Would you like to be part of the North Ryde Golf Club volunteer program? Volunteering on the golf course can be a rewarding experience for those who are passionate about golf and a way to contribute to your Golf Club.

Our volunteers meet at 10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays up at the course maintenance facility. First, we would like to thank our volunteers for all the work they have done far, completing numerous jobs around the golf course from divoting tees/fairways, removing large sticks/branches from tree lines and cleaning up along our fence lines.

We would love to welcome more volunteers to join our current Members who enjoy and find satisfaction in getting out on the course in a slightly different way. If you can spare some time and like working outside in the fresh air, we would love to welcome you to our team.  After their work on the greens our volunteers are rewarded not only with our thanks but with a complimentary refreshing drink in the Clubhouse.

Please register with the General Manager, Anthony Ryan, by emailing  gm@northrydegolfclub.com.au

 Dean Lenertz - Course Superintendent

Hunters Hill Ryde Men's Shed

North Ryde Golf Club supports the local community.  We were recently approached by a member who is also an active member of the local Hunters Hill Ryde Men's Shed, which is a non-profit community-based organisation with a focus on the health and wellbeing of its members through activity and social interaction. The workshop is equipped with an extensive range of quality wood and metal working tools. They meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 3pm with new friends, work on projects of their own, or help with making or repairing items for Lifeline and others. They sit and talk over coffee and tea with plenty of help for members who want to learn or improve their wood or metalworking skills.

Contact them via admin@hhrmensshed.com.au, visit the website hhrmensshed.com.au or just call in on any of the above days mentioned. They are located at 3 Mary St, Hunters Hill. Just walk between the church and Marist Fathers building. Walk down the road for a minute and you will find them.

A husband and wife are on the 9th green when suddenly he collapses from a heart attack. "Help me dear," he groans to his partner.

The wife calls 000 on her phone, talks for a few minutes, picks up her putter, and lines up the putt. Her husband raises his head off the green and stares at her. "I'm dying over here and you're putting?"

"Don't worry dear," says the wife calmly, "they found a doctor on the second hole and he's coming to help you."

"Well, how long will it take for him to get here?" he asks feebly.

"No time at all," says his wife. "Everybody's already agreed to let him play through."
