Course Rating Changes

We have recently undertaken a review of the course which encompassed re-measuring each hole to create four tees that can be used in competitions for both Men and Women.  The four tee markers are Blue, White, Red and Yellow.

Following this, NSW Golf have re-rated the course and calculated the new ratings as shown in the accompanying chart which will take effect from Saturday, 15 July.

What does this mean?

Women – For women there will be a slight change to your daily handicap as the slope rating has reduced from 124 to 121.

Men – For men, most Monday, Wednesday and Sunday competitions will be a White course setup, so your Handicap will be lower than currently. You will still play off the blue markers, but the course setup will depend on where the tees are that day. Saturdays will still be mostly a blue setup.

Couse Record Broken

Last Saturday, 1 July during the July Stroke - Monthly Medal competition, Nathan Barbieri achieved a new Men's Course Record at North Ryde Golf Club with a score of 65. This bettered the previous course record of 66 which was jointly held by four golfers, including  Nathan in January, 2016.

Nathan's name will now singularly go to the top of the Course Record's Board later in the year. Congratulations Nathan.

Women & Men's Veterans' News

We wish to draw your attention to the Mixed Vets Event on Thursday, 3 August.  For reasons of Covid, we have been unable to hold this event since 2019 and therefore we look forward to getting back to enjoying what has always been a very enjoyable and successful day.

Tee off will be from 9.12am, shortly after the conclusion of the usual Ladies Single Stableford Competition, with the number of players being limited to 48.  The event will consist of a 2 Ball Team plus Individual Stableford competition and each team of four must consist of at least one male and one female Vet member.  Upon conclusion of the game, hot and cold food will be provided plus tea and coffee.  Alcoholic drinks will be at the expense of those who wish to partake. A separate Time Sheet will be made available for this Mixed Vets game.  The total cost for each player will be $20.

In previous years, those who have participated agree that it is a great day and it will definitely be one day in the year where a naughty word from a male Vet will not be heard during the entire round!  We encourage all Vets to join us.  The Time Sheet will open at 5.00pm on Friday, 28 July.
