New 18th Hole

The Board is excited, after much planning, to be able to unveil this digital image of the New 18th Hole. We are aiming at starting the creation of our new look 18th in November with construction and seeding running into mid-December.  In Mid-February 2022 we then look forward to being able to open it for play after allowing 12 weeks for seed growth.

During construction the second hole will be split onto two par 3's. The first being from the current 2nd tee to the practice green and then next being the fairway to the current 2nd green.

Course Update

The Spring renovations were completed this week and perfect weather conditions have helped, producing excellent results. First cut of the greens will be early next week at 4.0mm and all going well the cutting height will be back down to our normal mowing height of 3.0mm by Friday.

Fairway and surrounds aeration / coring was also carried out with only minor surface disruption, (see image of 1st fairway being cored) a fertiliser application will be carried out in the coming weeks to promote strong healthy growth.

Ron Duffy - Superintendent

Car Park Entrance
With the closure this week for course renovations, the Club was also able to take advantage of an empty car park and undertook the repair of the main car park entrance.

To Play in 4s

As outlined by your President in his article in last week's 19TH NEWS (CLICK TO READ), we look forward to being able to offer those members double vaccinated to again play in 4's. In preparation for this, if you are a current playing member, we request that you register your vaccination status. Your certificate of vaccination needs to be verified by the Club by either making an appointment with the office or  alternatively you can present your certificate to a board member on duty during the weekend who'll pass your name onto the office to be registered.

All personal information will continue to remain confidential and will only be used internally to allocate you onto the appropriate timesheets.

As of this Friday afternoon we are still awaiting formal advice from NSW Health before proceeding to open up bookings for 4s in the coming weeks.

Please email or call us if you have any queries. email : office@northrydegolfclub.com.au     phone: 9887 4422

Golf Clubs with a Difference - FREE

There comes a time for all good golfers where you have to say, enough is enough. For me, this occurred around 2.45pm on Sunday 22 August.

These golf clubs were bought second hand in 2006.
Over the past 15 years they have provided very consistent results - 90% shithouse, 10% miraculously something positive happens.

I think the irons maybe perfect for someone around 5'6". I am 6'3". As a result, the stance needed with these has been difficult to adjust the swing to counteract the club length. Many variances on swing and stance have been tried.

They are very strong. Ping should be congratulated on the strength of the 1 wood. This has hit the ground very hard about 4-7 inches from the tee on many occasions, and the club seems unaffected. It can provide bad jarring through the shoulders, but I think all clubs would be similar.

The putter is good & comes with a silly velvet cover........ CLICK TO READ MORE
