Club Championships and Presentation

Wishing everyone all the best this weekend as they move into the final rounds. Men playing both Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 November and women playing Sunday.

Presentation in the Club Lounge will commence around 5pm. All welcome to come celebrate this major annual Club Championship Event and cheer the final winners.

2023 Vets' Championships

The 2023 Vets Championships which concluded last Monday, 30 October were played in very good weather and the Course was in excellent condition. The winners were:-

Division 1
Scratch: Roy Shuttleworth 149
Nett: Grant Goodhue (7) 138

Division 2
Scratch: Bruce Smith 172
Nett: Peter Westcott (19) 139

Division 3
Scratch: Anthony Jenkins 189
Nett: Andrew Howden (28) 135

Count Down to Melbourne Cup

Get ready for the excitement of the big race - join us in the Sports Bar or the Club Lounge for this Year's Melbourne Cup! Live coverage will commence at 11am and lunch will be available from the Sports Bar or Dragon on the Green. Enjoy a cocktail with the cocktail of the day only $10 and Happy Hour drinks prices available between 2pm and 4pm. Sweep tickets on us! No booking required but we will take bookings for tables of 6 or more if you want to get organised.

Member Communication

Upgrade to MiMembership: As you may be aware, we have been busy updating our membership database in readiness for the migration from MSL/Powergolf to MiMembership.

MiMembership is an integral part of the MiClub suite of products which not only seamlessly integrates with MiGolf and your handicap but it is also much more transparent for members being able to access and view their accounts and transactions online or through the App. Thank you for your patience this last week while we migrated your Club Credit account across.

We are certainly not the first Club to take this pathway to improve not only the security of our member's records but also to simplify and improve reporting and accountability. The testing and integration process has been quite thorough and is now complete. One anomaly which has arisen is the fact that the "preferred name" field has not always carried across. For all members we recommend that you log in to your MiClub portal and check your records by going into the Golf tab and checking the "My Information". You can update these yourselves by following these simple instructions CLICK HERE or by all means please drop the office an email if changes are required at: office@northrydegolfclub.com.au

At membership renewal time one of the big steps forward include the ability for Members to renew online including setting up your instalments directly straight into the stable and secure platform.

Junior Pennants & Encourage Shield

The North Ryde Golf Club's Junior Pennants team played last Sunday against Castle Hill at Pennant Hills and lost 5 to 1. This coming Sunday (5/11) our Juniors play their last game against Stonecutters at Lynwood.

Also last Sunday the North Ryde Golf Club's Encourage Shield team played at Massey Park and lost against Massey Park 5 to 1. This coming Sunday (5/11) our Encourage Shield team play their last game against Roseville at Avondale.

Wishing them all the best in their last rounds.

Count Down to Christmas

This year we have something truly special organised for the annual Club Christmas Celebration Saturday, 2 December 6pm - late. Get your party shoes on, grab friends and family and join us for this magical evening. Drinks are included until 9pm, starting the three course menu with grazing platters, then mains consisting of a traditional roast Christmas dinner or if that's not your style choose grilled barramundi at the time of booking (up to a week prior the evening). Finish off dinner with a wonderful Christmas pudding and custard. Throughout the evening you will be delighted by performances from leading Australian singers and then put on those dancing shoes to jive to music provided by the DJ into the wee hours. A full evening of top class entertainment and fun.

Only $65 a head for Members, $75 for Non-Members.

Orange Success

Orange Women's Open, 3 Day Tournament: Last week North Ryde Golf Club was represented by 10 of our women golfers.

The first two days was a stroke competition, finalising on the third day Wednesday, 25 October with a foursomes championship.

Congratulations to all our players, particularly Jackie White (pictured) who won scratch and handicap being overall winner in 2 Division, 3rd Judy Merrick with foursomes scratch winners Lorraine Taylor & another of our Women members.

Movember at NRGC

Week two of Movember is here which means we're well underway through NRGC's mission for men's health. Raising donations for life-changing men's health initiatives across mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Thanks to all those who have bought raffle tickets via NRGC Reception or the Golf Shop.

How are those moustaches growing, itchy and scratchy but showing signs of life yet?

1. Buy Raffle Tickets - Tickets for Movember NRGC raffle with up to $2,000 value in prizes are now available via NRGC Reception and the Pro-Shop.

2. Movember Presentation Saturday 25 November from 5pm - Join us for a couple of hours with celebrity Presenter Steve Marshall (Channel 9 Current Affairs reporter) to announce our "Movember Mo" Club winners. Ladies (Mo Sista's) we haven't forgotten you please wear your "Melbourne Cup fascinators" on the night for some prizes. Around 6.30pm the raffle will be drawn.
