One Door Closes and Another Opens
It has been a tumultuous start for our Course Superintendent Luke, first up losing a couple of greenkeepers to work closer to home, which paved the way for Penny Deehan to come back to the Club in the Assistant Course Superintendent position. A few weeks into her new appointment and after instrumentally working with Luke to extend the 2nd and 6th greens, her Mum had a fall which necessitated full-time family care. Understandably, being the dedicated daughter, Penny stepped up and her career has been temporarily put on hold, which I'm sure you'll agree is to be admired. Having caught up with Penny this week, both her Mum and Dad are progressing but it will be a journey. On behalf of the Club, I wished Penny and her parents all the best.
Further, this week started with the reluctant news that Taylor, our mechanic who lives on the Central Coast with a 2 month old baby, was successful in his application to relocate to The Springs Golf Club. While he will miss us, he won't miss the dreaded extra two hours per day commuting! And his wife won't say no to having him around a bit more either. With big shoes to fill, if you know any mechanics who would like to work in the best golf club in Sydney, please ask them to send their resume to super@northridegolfclub.com.au
Leaving the good staffing news to last, we warmly welcome Jenny Gillard to the Club. Jenny comes to the Club with a wealth of experience gained through a career working with people and finance. She will find her feet very quickly in the Office making a great addition to our happy and helpful team! Please say g'day when you see her around the Club.
