Welcome Back

Hello to my fellow NRGC family, it's been quite a while since I have been able to address you with joy and optimism. The last few months of lockdown have been difficult to say the least. We were very fortunate that Golf was still allowed, our Victorian cousins have not been so lucky. Following NSW Government Public Health Orders that changed by the day was always going to be a challenge.

Priority Booking

Priority Booking has been put in place for those Playing Members who have been unable to play golf due to the Travel Restrictions. This allows you to ring the office (02 9887 4422) during business hours one to two days prior the usual timesheet opening to book a spot. 

This will be in place for competitions (except for round 1 of the Club Championships) until Thursday 11 Nov (subject to change) and allows for one priority booking during the week and one on the weekend. 

Please note: if booking for other players, they too must have been unable to play due to the Restrictions.

This Saturday 16 October: Welcome back to all our racing friends, it's time to sit back and enjoy the Everest. The richest race in Australia will kick off Super Saturday Race Days once more, with the Big Screens, view of our greens,  the TAB and happy hour from 12noon-5pm what a great way to watch the race!

Vets' Championships

The first round of our Championships is on Monday 25 October with bookings opening on Wednesday 20 October at 6.00pm.  

You will not be required to re-book for Round 2 as all bookings made for Round 1, will be automatically carried forward to Round 2, with the same time and the same players as Round 1.  

Remember, the Vets Championships is a Stroke event.

Vale to Mary

We are sad to let our Lady Members know of the passing of Mary Leong (Madonna Mary Loeng) on who after a short illness passed away at Royal North Sore Hospital on Wednesday 6 October.

A much loved maths teacher for many years and member of North Ryde Golf Club for over 14 years she will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. She is survived by her three children.

Our Ladies President attended her memorial service on Thursday representing the Club as numbers where limited.

Wednesday Night Trivia was back last week with a great turn out. Wednesday TRIVIA is a night of fun, prizes and friendly competition. Come exercise your brain cells this Wednesday and be part of the fun! There are special Trivia Night munchies for sale or come that little bit earlier for a full meal at the restaurant so you're fuelled up for a 7pm start.

This Wednesday 20 October:  Be here 6:30pm this Wednesday for the first draw night since reopening.  This is your chance to have your receipt drawn from the barrel to be in with a chance to WIN the car on the final draw night 27 April 2022. Keep putting your Main Bar receipts in the barrel to increase your chance of being drawn on any subsequent Wednesday draw night.

Draw Nights: 20 October, 17 November, 22 December (Christmas bonus 2 draws), 19 January 2022, 16 February, 16 March and on the final draw night 27 April 5 extra tickets will be drawn, all our winners will get a key and we'll all see who opens the car and WINS!! Please note that there have been changes made to where the Out of Bounds is located on the right hand side of the 13th Fairway, the white stakes with Black Tops define the area which is Out of Bounds, the GUR stakes have now also been removed.

  • MAIN BAR:  MON & TUE 2pm-7pm, WED 11:30am to 9:30pm, THUR 2pm-9:30pm, FRI & SAT 11:30am to 11pm and SUN 11:30am to 8:30pm
  • GAMING ROOM: Same hours as Main Bar and closes half an hour prior Main Bar closing
  • HALFWAY BAR:  MON & TUE 9am to 3pm, WED 8am to 4.30pm, THUR & FRI 9am to 4.30pm, SAT 7.30am to 4.30pm, SUN 8.30am to 4.30pm
  • RESTAURANT - Dragon on the Green: WED 11:30am to 3pm and 4:30pm-8pm, THUR 4:30pm -8pm, FRI, SAT & SUN 11:30am to 3pm and 4:30pm -8pm

Please note: Opening of all venues from October 11 are under NSW Public Health orders. Our trading and operations to ensure a CovidSAFE environment and to meet these requirements will be a little different. There are capacity restrictions, double vaccination proof required to enter, all patrons indoors to wear a mask at all times unless seated while eating and drinking. Club Championships Conditions: 

  • Flexible and Members on Hold are not eligible to play in the Club Championships. These members can however book 2 days prior the competition dates to play a game. 
  • Male members who wish to qualify for Club Championships must pay upfront for rounds 1 & 2
  • Only qualified double vaccinated members can play in Club Championship rounds as only groups of 4 and 3 (Final rounds) will be run.

Even in this rain we are excited to have the new concrete pad poured and laid ready for the nets. This weather although not so great for golf is prefect for the concrete to cure giving us great foundations.  Keep your eyes open for the next step in the process.

Oct 30 Sat - Championships Round 2 - A, A Reserve, B, C & D Grades (Players with 12 best scratch scores in each grade for 1st & 2nd qualify for 3rd & 4th Rounds)

Oct 31 Sun - Ladies Championships (Div 1 - 4) Round 3

With the changes to outdoor public gatherings we have now again started to play a 2 Ball Team + Individual Stableford on Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday, with Monday, Tuesday & Thursday continuing to be Single Stableford. This will continue until 1 December when we will revert back to the fixture book
