Who's your choice?

Club Person of the Year is timed to coincide with the Annual Commemoration Dinner Dance to be held on Saturday 20 August. The Club Person of the Year Award will be presented to the person who the Members believe has given the most to the Club during the past year.

Nominations will open on Monday 11 July, 9am and close on Monday 25 July at 12noon.  Any full Member or Social Member can be nominated via the nomination form that can be downloaded below or obtained from Club Reception. Nominations must be signed by the Nominator and must contain a description of why the person is being nominated. Once complete, nomination forms can be placed in the nomination box at Reception or emailed to: office@northrydegolfclub.com.au

Employees, Contractors and Standing Directors may not be nominated.

Members will be asked to vote for the winner from finalists selected by the Board. Again, the voting form will be available on the Club's Website or directly from Club Reception. Voting will be confidential and we would ask members to submit the nomination at the office in to the locked box between Monday 5 and Monday 17 August 5pm.

The Finalists and their "Plus one" will be VIP Guests at the Commemoration Gala where the winner will be announced. Get your thinking caps on as to whom, you believe, is worthy of the Club Person of the Year.

Womens' Update

Foursomes Championships:  Over the last 2 weeks, the women have contested the Foursomes Championships. This is a 2-round scratch event played in 3 divisions - Division 1 (GA handicap 0-20), Division 2 (GA handicap 20.1 - 29.0) and Division 3 (GA handicap 25.1-54).  The lowest marker of the pair determines the division the pair competes in.

Congratulations to the following winners of each of the divisions:
Division 1:  Helen Lee & Monica Shon with rounds of 92 and 92
Division 2:  Linda Mathieson & Bev Boyer with rounds of 97 and 99
Division 3:  Ann Conway & Pam Joy with rounds of 117 and 109

Congratulations also to the Runners-up in each division - Vicki Cunliffe & Sue Chim (Division 1), Sue Currie & Judy Merrick (Division 2) and Robyn Bond & Una Flanagan (Division 3).

Women's Bronze ll and Bronze lll Representative Teams:  Thank you to all members of these representative teams for making the commitment to represent our club in these competitions. Once again it was a challenge to get all the games completed with all the rain, but we managed most of them.  Unfortunately, we were not able to come away with a win this year but there is always next year.

We would like to encourage more ladies to ..............

Course Report

Regretfully over the past week we have received 318.5mm of rain or just more than 30cm.  This deluge fell on ground which, while recovering, was still quite wet just below the surface and accordingly the new downpours had nowhere to go but instead sat on the surface.

What this means is that in some parts of the course, not only will foot traffic cause damage to the surface, the main catalyst for closing is your safety.  The incredibly slippery conditions just make it too dangerous to navigate safely.

Our Course Superintendent takes daily readings at midnight which is slightly different from the BOM readings undertaken daily at 9am.  In any event we are waterlogged and no doubt it is of little comfort that we are not alone.  Some of our neighbours including Avondale and Roseville are closed until at least Monday with Pennant Hills closed until at least next Thursday!

We really want to get you back on as soon as we can safely - please keep checking the website each afternoon as the course conditions are being assessed at least once each day.

Reminder - Vets' AGM Rescheduled to July 25

Just a brief reminder to follow our announcement via a special 19TH NEWS on Tuesday that Vets' AGM which was scheduled for this coming Monday 11 July has been moved to Monday 25 July, looking forward to much improved course conditions for a great event.
