New Bubbler

As reported at the beginning of the month with the success of the new bubbler located between the 15th Green and 16th Tee, we ordered and paid for an identical bubbler (with chilled water) to replace the broken unit previously located at the 5th Tee.

We are pleased to announce, this week it has now arrived and been speedily installed by our amazing greens staff for use from this weekend.

While the weather has got cooler, it is still super important to keep hydrated, so please make use of this updated facility and enjoy the cool water.

Volunteers

Further to the President's message three weeks ago, hopefully you have had a chance to consider your availability?  Most importantly, how would you like to make a difference at your Club while socialising with fellow members?

Do you want to be on the GreenTeem, are you a Woody, or perhaps you'd prefer to help out with the Juniors?

We are looking to fill volunteer positions at the Club and we'd love to help you to become more involved.

GreenTeem:  These eager members' objective will be to improve the condition and sustainability of the Greens and Tees, their surrounds and generally help out around these pivotal areas.  Working in pairs, we will provide a cart, divot repair tools and sand and run you through a brief induction prior to sending you out.

Woodies:  Concerned with the interference from loose branches, twigs and minor undulations when you're playing?  As a Woodie you'll have a chance to rid yourself of these nuisance obstacles from your game and no doubt aid your handicap along the way.  Woodies will also run through an induction with Dean, our Course Superintendent and also working in pairs, you'll be using one of the Club's course trucksters to systematically work through various areas of the course improving playability for all.

Members interested in either or both of these volunteering posts may assist us on either Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays (or more if you're keen) outside of the relevant comp but prior to 2pm. We look forward to thanking you after your two hour stint with a complimentary refreshing drink.

Please register with the General Manager, Anthony Ryan, by emailing  gm@northrydegolfclub.com.au

Juniors:  For any members looking to assist the Junior program, we would love for you to impart your wisdom to the next generation of NRGC golfers - please contact Marty in the pro shop pro@northrydegolfclub.com.au. Please note that a Working with Children clearance is required for this program New Application - NSW Working with Children Check

Daylight Savings Finishes

This weekend is the annual turn back of the Clocks as Autumn weather arrives and we ready ourselves for the shorter Winter days.

Daylight saving ends officially at 3am, Eastern Daylight Saving Time on Sunday 2 April 2023 when clocks will be put back one hour.

So don't forget if you need to manually set your clocks back, do so before going to bed on Saturday night to be ready on time for Golf on Sunday.

Also from Sunday, 2 April Twilight Golf will start an hour earlier from 3pm.

Tee Time Change

Delayed start for Additional Course Maintenance from Monday, 17 April:  With the amount of golf being played as well as the impending cooler weather, in order to present the Greens in the amazing condition we all love and enjoy, we need to undertake ongoing work.  Commencing on Monday, 17 April, each fortnight (with the exception of Public Holidays), our Course Superintendent Dean Lenertz and his team will be undertaking additional maintenance work including dusting the greens prior to the comp commencing at 9am.  There will be no access to the course prior to this time.

We will keep you updated but as noted above, this new initiative will be in place for the foreseeable future, certainly during the cooler months with a review in Spring when the days afford more play.
