COURSE CLOSED - Sat 6 April

As the course has received more than 60mm at the time of writing with much more forcast on the way, the course is closed on Saturday, 6 April.

A decision as to whether the course will be open for play on Sunday, 7 April will be communicated on Saturday afternoon.

Next Sat BBQ

Next Saturday, 13 April our Women Members are hosting a Fundraising BBQ at the Halfway Bar from 7am to 2pm.

Choose from egg and bacon rolls, or a BBQ sausage and onion on a fresh bun with a choice of sauce. We will have you covered for breakfast, a halfway energiser or lunch. Add to the fun on the day there will also be a Meat Tray Raffle drawn, so don't forget to pop by to not only enjoy a meal but possibly also win a meat tray to take home.

Join us for one of the biggest events in combat sports history

NRGC Now Hosting UFC in the Sports Bar. UFC 300 - With three title fights and a title eliminator, UFC 300 will be one of the biggest UFC events of the year and it will be showing on North Ryde's Sports Bar's Super Screen on Sunday, April 14. Headlining UFC 300 is a light heavyweight championship bout between current champion Alex Pereira (Glory middleweight and light heavyweight champion, making him one of the best current fighters in the world) and former champion Jamahal Hill. (Fri PM) All games in South. Aust. as part of "Gather Round". Horse Racing: Doncaster Mile (Sat PM) in Sydney. First day of the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival. Popular w/punters.

Golf we have the Texas Open (PGA Tour), National Women's Amateur (Amateur), T-Mobile Match Play (LPGA Tour), Club Car Championship (Korn Ferry Tour), Australian Women's Classic (Ladies European Tour), LIV Golf Miami (LIV Golf League) just to name few coming up but most importantly US Masters Final Monday 4am 15 April see full details below.

The US Masters Final is showing here at North Ryde Golf Club on the Big Screen from 4am on Monday, 15 April. For those committed enthusiasts who want to savour every moment and enjoy the company of like-minded fanatics.

We welcome you to watch the final from the comfort of the Club, from 4am (or a little later if you sleep in), Have breakfast and a coffee, maybe even a drink * and after watching the winner receive the fabled Green Jacket, head out and practice some of your own magic from about 9am #.

Please email office@northrydegolfclub.com.au to give us an idea of how many devotees might like to attend so we can cater.

Diggers Day

Flip to Saturday, 20 April and lock in the annual favourite Diggers Day. This year will be even bigger and better.

For only $40 Full Playing Members and $60 non members you get a game (3 clubs and a putter, 2 Man Ambrose), lunch, 4 free drinks, dinner, live entertainment (includes two shows) and the Club will co-ordinate a bus for pick-up and drop-off in the local vicinity from and to particular designated points TBA.

PLUS, for playing Members attending the dinner, a $25 credit will be put on their member top-up account.

If you can't make it to play on the day you can still book dinner for $25 for Playing Members and $40 for non members. Any current or ex-servicemen and first responders will get a spot and play for FREE. All I can say is Wow - SAVE the DATE!

BOOKINGS online open from 5pm this coming Monday, 8 April.

Locker Room Update

Following on from the Buggy Room relocation, the old area will now be integrated into the Men's Locker Room and provide direct access, in addition to the existing doorway. This new access point, like the Women's, will only be available for Members with a valid access card and will provide easier access to the facilities and storage of clubs.

The work commences on Monday 15 April, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Tuesday, 9 April NSW Bowl: The NSW Bowl is an annual competition to support specific female golf initiatives. The competition is a 2 Ball Team + Individual event. Book online

Saturday, 13 April - Fundraising BBQ, volunteers needed from 7am to 2pm. Please come and help us to make this a great success. There will be a sheet in the locker room.

Sunday, 14 April - Weekend Women's NSW Bowl,

Tuesday 16 April - North Ryde Salver, Macquarie Bowl & Autumn Plate. Maximum score is not allowed for this event. This is a drawn seeded event so please put your name on the sheet in the locker room as soon as possible to be included.

North Ryde Salver is a Nett Stroke event with a GA handicap limit of 32.0.
Macquarie Bowl is a Scratch Event with a GA Handicap limit of 27.0.
The Autumn Plate is a Stableford event for GA handicaps between 32.1 and 54.0.

Lady Veteran's Notes

Our first event of the year is the Challenge Brooch, to be played of the Sunday, 28 April for the weekend Veterans and Tuesday, 30 April for the weekday Veterans. To be eligible you must be a financial member.

So have you paid your Veteran' fees for 2024? Please see Cheryl Ward or myself to check if you are financial. There are quite a few Members who have not paid yet.

So far this year we have welcomed five new members to the VWGA and North Ryde, Katherine Clark, Alice Wei, Bina Kassam, Lynne Dawson and Jenny Wang.

This year we are giving out 10 balls for every stroke, par & stableford round. The 9 hole comp on Thursday is being well supported.

Exciting Move

You will all be familiar with the wonderful smile and friendly face of Nikola Issacs our multi skilled go to office and membership staff member who after 2.5 years is leaving us for literally greener pastures having purchased acreage with her husband Chris and moving the family to Port Macquarie. If you're in the Club Friday 6 April it will be her last day with us and we are sad to see her go but very excited for her new adventure. We welcome Kylie who has started with us just prior to Easter. We will introduce Kylie formally in an upcoming newsletter.

Farwell from Nikola: I will be very sad to leave my 2nd home. The golf club has been a wonderful place to work. They have looked after me and even my children (some of you might have seen tiny people hiding under my desk). I will be eternally grateful for all their support and introduction into golf. I will be sad to say goodbye to many members as well, I will be back to visit. So, it's not goodbye but see you soon x
